After undergoing LASIK surgery, it's essential to follow post-operative restrictions to ensure optimal healing and minimize the risk of complications. Here's what you can expect in terms of restrictions:

1. Rest and Recovery: On the first day following LASIK surgery, it's advisable to keep both eyes closed and prioritize rest or sleep for the first few hours. Adequate rest allows your eyes to recover from the procedure and promotes healing.

2. Avoid Swimming: Swimming is not recommended for the first week after LASIK surgery, unless you wear watertight goggles to protect your eyes from waterborne contaminants and potential irritation. Avoiding swimming during this period helps reduce the risk of infection and allows your eyes to heal undisturbed.

3. No Eye Rubbing or Bumping: To prevent any trauma to the eyes, it's crucial to avoid rubbing or bumping them for the first few days after LASIK surgery. Touching or rubbing the eyes can disrupt the healing process and potentially lead to complications.

4. Limit Contact Sports: Engaging in contact sports should be avoided for the first few weeks following LASIK surgery to minimize the risk of accidental eye injury. Activities that involve direct contact or impact to the eyes should be postponed until your ophthalmologist gives the green light.

By adhering to these post-operative restrictions, you can support a smooth recovery process and ensure the best possible outcomes from your LASIK surgery.
