Why did Musk decide to leave California? It's because of his online feud with Democratic figures

This is the breaking point. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, made a bombshell announcement on his social media platform X on the 16th (local time). He stated that both SpaceX, his space exploration company, and X (formerly Twitter) headquarters will be relocated from California to Texas. Musk previously moved Tesla's headquarters from Palo Alto, California to Austin, Texas in 2021, citing California's regulations and taxes. However, Musk's explanation for moving both SpaceX and X's headquarters is unrelated to the companies' business operations. He cited California Governor Gavin Newsom's signing of a new law concerning LGBTQ+ students. The California State Legislature passed AB1955, a law prohibiting school staff from disclosing a student's sexual orientation or gender identity to parents or others without the student's consent. Governor Newsom's signature made California the first state in the US to enact such a law. Tags: Elon Musk Gavin Newsom
